The SSC GD Constable recruitment is a national-level examination for selecting Constables (General Duty) in multiple paramilitary forces of India including BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles. The SSC conducts this recruitment under agreement with the Ministry of Home Affairs. Salary
Candidates will get pay level-3 (₹21,700 – ₹69,100) under the 7th Central Pay Commission, along with allowances like DA, HRA, and other benefits.

- The Caniddates must have passed the Matriculation or 10th Class Examination from a recognized Board or University.

Age Relaxation
- SC/ST: +5 years
- OBC (Non‑Creamy Layer): +3 years
- PwBD (Unreserved/EWS): +10 years; (OBC): +13 years; (SC/ST): +15 years
- Ex‑Servicemen: Up to +3 years after deducting military service
- Central Government Civilian Employees: Up to 40 years (45 for SC/ST) for 3 years’ service
Selection Process
The recruitment involves several filtering stages. You must qualify for one stage to proceed to the next.
- Computer Based Examination (CBE): As detailed above.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- Male Candidates: Must run 5 Kms in 24 minutes (or 1.6 Kms in 7 minutes for Ladakh region candidates)
- Female Candidates: Must run 1.6 Kms in 8 ½ minutes (or 800 meters in 5 minutes for Ladakh region candidates)
- Physical Standard Test (PST):
- Height: Male: 170 cms | Female: 157 cms. (Relaxations apply for ST candidates and residents of specific hilly regions like North East, J&K, Himachal, etc.)
- Chest (Male only): Un-expanded: 80 cms | Minimum expansion: 5 cms. (Relaxations available for ST and specific hill regions) .
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
- Medical Examination (DME/RME): Detailed medical checks for those who qualify PET/PST.

Can I change my force preference after submitting the application?
No. The notification clearly states that no request for a change in preference will be entertained under any circumstances after submission
Is there a waiting list if I don’t make the initial cut?
No. The Commission does not prepare or maintain a waiting list or reserve list after the final result is declared
Do NCC cadets get extra marks?
Yes. NCC ‘C’ certificate holders get 5% bonus marks, ‘B’ get 3%, and ‘A’ get 2% of the maximum marks.
Can I use an old photograph for the application?
