Exam Pattern
The recruitment of Executive Trainees is based solely on valid GATE scores (for 2023, 2024, and 2025). There is no separate written test conducted by NPCIL for this recruitment exercise.
Key aspects include:
• Shortlisting Based on GATE Scores: Candidates are shortlisted for a personal interview based on a merit ratio of 1:12. In cases where candidates have equal scores at the cut-off, all candidates with the same score will be shortlisted.
• Weightage in Selection: Although equal weightage is given to the GATE scores from the three respective years, no additional marks or weightage is provided during the final interview round; rather, the interview is solely used to assess overall suitability and technical competence.
Selection
The selection process under NPCIL’s recruitment notification is multi-staged:
- Shortlisting:
– Shortlisting is based on valid GATE scores (from 2023, 2024, or 2025) and follows a ratio of 1:12 (i.e., one candidate is shortlisted for every 12 applicants in each category).
– If there is a tie in scores, all candidates with the same marks are shortlisted.
– For PwBD candidates, there is a separate merit list with the same ratio. - Personal Interview:
– Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview where they are tested on their technical knowledge, communication skills, and overall suitability for the role.
– The minimum qualifying marks in the interview phase are 70% for General/EWS and 60% for reserved categories. - Document Verification:
– At the time of the interview, candidates must present original documents as proof of qualification, identity, and eligibility. - Final Selection:
– The final offer of traineeship is extended only after a successful interview, verification of documents, and medical fitness assessment by the authorized NPCIL medical officer.
