The Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education (ICFRE), Tropical Forest Research Institute (TFRI), Jabalpur, under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, has released Advertisement No. TFRI/JBP/DR/005 dated 14th July 2025, inviting online applications for direct recruitment to Group ‘C’ posts. ICFRE‑TFRI Forest Guard Recruitment 2025 – Educational Qualification Details

• Technical Assistant (Level‑5): Bachelor’s degree in Science with one of the following subjects: Botany, Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Statistics from a recognized university.

• Forest Guard (Level‑2): 12th standard pass with Science from a government-recognized board. Candidates must complete a forestry training course from a recognized institution during the probation period and meet physical proficiency and medical standards.

• Driver (Ordinary Grade, Level‑2):
  • Matriculation (10th pass) from a recognized board.
  • Valid driving license for motor cars.
  • Minimum three years’ experience driving motor cars.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of motor mechanism for minor repairs

Salary

Salaries are as per the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix:

• Level‑5 (Technical Assistant): Entry pay ₹29,200 per month plus allowances.
• Level‑2 (Forest Guard & Driver): Entry pay ₹19,900 per month plus allowances.

• Technical Assistant: 21–30 years
• Forest Guard: 18–27 years

  • General Awareness & Reasoning – 20 Q/20 M
  • English & General Science – 20 Q/20 M

  • Relevant Subject (Agriculture, Forestry, Botany, Zoology) – 40 Q/40 M
• Forest Guard (120 minutes):
  • General Awareness – 30 Q/30 M
  • Arithmetic, Mental Ability & Reasoning – 30 Q/30 M
  • General English – 10 Q/10 M
  • Science (Intermediate level) – 30 Q/30 M
• Driver (120 minutes):
  • General English – 25 Q/25 M

• Negative Marking: 0.33 for each wrong answer

ICFRE‑TFRI Forest Guard Recruitment 2025 – Selection Process

• Written Examination (Stage‑I): Candidates must meet minimum qualifying marks (Technical Assistant: UR–50%, OBC‑NCL–45%, SC/ST/PwBD/Ex‑Sm–40%; no minimum for Forest Guard and Driver).
• Physical Proficiency/Skill Test (Stage‑II):
• Forest Guard: Physical Standard Test (walking distance, height, chest measurements) and medical examination.
• Driver: Driving test assessing knowledge of traffic rules, ability to handle minor vehicle defects.
• Document Verification: Candidates called for Stage‑II must produce original certificates (age proof, caste, educational qualifications, PwBD, Ex‑servicemen certificates, etc.).
• Final Merit List: Based on written exam merit and qualifying Stage‑II tests. Tie‑breakers follow date of birth, name ordering, and higher essential qualification percentage
