IB MTS Recruitment – Salary
- Selected candidates will be appointed in Level 1 of the Pay Matrix:
- Pay Scale: ₹18,000 – ₹56,00 per month
Educational Qualification Details
To apply for this post, you must meet two specific criteria regarding your education and background by the closing date of December 14, 2025:
- Domicile Certificate: You must possess a domicile certificate of the State against which you have applied.y criteria before applying.
- Matriculation: You must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board.

Minimum Age of the Candidate: 18 Years
Maximum Age of the Candidate: 27 Years as on 14.12.2025

Exam Pattern
The selection process involves a two-tier examination system.
Tier-I: Online Exam (Objective Type) This is a computer-based test consisting of 100 questions.
- Total Marks: 100
- Time: 1 Hour
- Negative Marking: 1/4 mark for each wrong answer.
Tier-I Syllabus Breakdown:
- General Awareness: 40 Questions.
- Quantitative Aptitude: 20 Questions.
- Numerical/Analytical/Logical Ability & Reasoning: 20 Questions.
- English Language: 20 Questions.
Tier-II: Descriptive Test This is a qualifying exam designed to test your English language skills.
- Total Marks: 50.
- Time: 1 Hour

IB MTS Recruitment – Selection Process
Understanding how the merit list is created is vital for your preparation strategy.
- Tier-I Cut-off: You must achieve a minimum score in Tier-I to be considered.
- UR: 30
- OBC: 28
- SC/ST: 25
- EWS: 30.
- Shortlisting for Tier-II: Candidates are shortlisted for Tier-II at a ratio of 10 times the number of vacancies based on their Tier-I performance.
- Tier-II is Qualifying: You must score at least 20 out of 50 in Tier-II. These marks are not added to your final score; you simply need to pass.
- Final Merit List: The final selection is based strictly on your performance in the Tier-I exam, provided you have qualified in Tier-II

- GATE Scorecard (2023/2024/2025)

- No Objection Certificate (for government employees)

IB MTS Recruitment- How to Apply
The application process is entirely digital. No physical applications are accepted.
- Visit the Portal: Go to
www.mha.gov.inorwww.ncs.gov.in. - Registration: The portal is operational from November 22, 2025, to December 14, 2025.
- Choose SIB: Carefully select the SIB you wish to apply for. Remember, you can choose only one.
- Choose Exam City: You must select five (5) options for your Examination City. Once chosen, these cannot be changed.
- Payment: Pay the fee online via Debit/Credit cards, UPI, Net Banking, or SBI Challan

FAQ –
Can I apply for more than one SIB?
No. You can opt for only one Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB)
Are marks from the descriptive test (Tier-II) added to the final merit?
No. Tier-II is qualifying in nature (you need 20/50 marks). Final merit is based only on Tier-I marks
What happens if I try to pay the fee after December 14?
Online payments are only accepted until the closing date (14.12.2025). However, if you have generated an SBI challan by the closing date, you can pay at the bank until December 16, 2025
