Salary

The salary package offered by SAIL is one of the strongest among PSUs.

• Basic Pay during Training: ₹50,000 per month (E-1 Grade)
• Pay After One Year (On Confirmation as Assistant Manager): ₹60,000 – ₹1,80,000

Educational Qualification Details

• Full-time Engineering Degree with at least 65% marks, calculated as the average of all semesters
• .Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, and departmental categories get a relaxation and can apply with 55% marks.

• Chemical: Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Electro-Chemical Engineering
• Civil: Civil Engineering
• Computer: CSE, IT, CS & IT, Computer Science Engineering, MCA (3 years)
• Electrical: Electrical Engineering and many related sub-branches
• Instrumentation: Electronics, Instrumentation, ECE, Robotics, Automation and more
• Mechanical: Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering and related technologies

Minimum Age of the Candidate: 18 Years

Selection Process

The selection process is conducted in several steps to ensure the best candidates are chosen.

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
   This is the screening stage where candidates must qualify both sections.
2. Group Discussion
   Shortlisted candidates (in 1:3 ratio) will participate in a GD to assess communication and analytical skills.
3. Interview
   The interview evaluates technical knowledge, personality, and suitability for management roles.

The final merit list is prepared based on the following weightage:

• CBT: 75%
• GD: 10%
• Interview: 15%
